The president and the Republican Party will share $100,000 in donations from a gambling Web site, which polled surfers on who should be the next president.
While Kerry held an early lead in the Casinofortune.com poll, Bush supporters came out in droves, giving the president a 54% to 46% victory and a boost to his campaign coffers.
"We're amazed at how many gamblers are Republican," Casino Fortunes' spokesperson said.
While the Bush campaign or the Republican Party isn't about to turn away $100,00, getting them the money isn't as easy as you'd think.
Casino Fortune scheduled a photo op with Republican National Convention chairman William Harris yesterday, only to be turned away by Madison Square Garden. Also, spokespeople at Bush's campaign offices had no knowledge of the donation.
It's illegal for a company to directly contribute to a federal election and individuals can't give over $2,000, so Casino Fortune's donation is being divided among its 10 executives.
